Parent Info & FAQs
Are the age ranges firm?
We do have some flexibility in the age ranges for our trips and at times will make exceptions after talking it over with parents. If you believe your kid is best suited for a trip outside their age please contact us and we’ll see what we can do!
What type of food will by child eat and can you accommodate my child’s food preferences and allergies?
We have healthy and nutritious camp food and can accommodate most food allergies like gluten free, vegetarian, etc. If your child has significant dietary restrictions please contact us for more details.
My child needs to take medications daily? Can he still enroll in camp?
Yes, our staff receive the state child care medical administration training and we can accommodate daily medications when prescribed by a doctor.
Can we write our kids while they are at camp?
Yes! We have an email account set up to receive letters which are printed and distributed daily.
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit we are passionate about providing transformational experiences for youth and strive to make our programs affordable. We do offer scholarships and we encourage you to apply. Click here to apply.
Do you allow cellphones?
We ask that campers leave all electronic devices at home. Camp is a place to unplug and interact with peers and the environment and due to the lack of reception cellphones wouldn’t do much good anyways!
What type of tents or shelter will my child be sleeping in?
Sleeping accommodations for camp include wooden-framed canvas tents with bunk beds to ensure a good night’s sleep. Overnights during camps and Adventure Trips utilize tarp shelters with the option of sleeping under the stars.
Will my child have access to a bathroom and shower?
We have a modern bathroom facility at our camp with flush toilets and showers. Showers are available per participant request and as needed for sanitation but due to the short duration of camp and water conservation we do not require showers during our camp sessions. While on overnights and on adventure trips, bathroom access and accommodations varies depending on location.
Is your camp staff trained in safety, risk management and first aid?
We have at least one staff minimum of Wilderness First Responder medical training on all Adventure Camps and Trips. Additionally we constantly work to keep staff trained and our policies and procedures on the cutting edge of industry standards in safety and risk management.
