No Barriers Schools Network

No Barriers Schools Network

No Barriers Youth is working to develop a network of No Barriers Schools. These schools are committed to the integration of the No Barriers Life into students’ learning experiences infused with in-class curriculum, domestic and international expeditions, all with the hope equip entire student bodies with skills, resources, and confidence to make a positive in their local and global community.

Institute for Collaborative Education (ICE)

In 2014, No Barriers Youth entered into a multi-year partnership with the Institute for Collaborative Education (ICE), a New York City school. With age appropriate lessons, activities, and experiential learning opportunities for students, along with educational support for educators, ICE became the first No Barriers School. Embracing all that the No Barriers movement had to offer, students from 9th through 12th grade have pushed their comfort zone and have grown into passionate leaders who serve, all through the No Barriers Life framework and curriculum.

As part of the program, 9th grade students have participated in three day retreats at Camp Jewell in Connecticut where they participated in a variety of team building and service learning activities. A select group of 10th and 11th gradersstatic1.squarespace had the opportunity to travel to the Annual No Barriers Summit where they were immersed in the transformational event and associated programming. Furthermore, ICE students were able to experience a No Barriers Expedition during an immersive adventure to Costa Rica.
